writing a good sentence
one sentence, up to 140 characters. the best results come from a specific character plus one funny situation.
the formula
a specific character plus one funny situation. that's the whole trick.
a frog who does my taxesgrandma who only buys the dipmy landlord but he's a raccoon
weak vs good
vague or generic sentences, like a cool coin or a dog, give the printer nothing to be funny about. say who it is and what's funny about them. the good ones below are real sample prints: open one to see what came out.
- weak
a cool coin
gooda frog who does my taxes
“cool” isn't a character. a frog with a day job is.
printed Deductoad $DEDUCTOAD - weak
a dog
gooda dog who refuses to sell
a subject on its own is flat. give it one stubborn habit.
printed Nosell Dog $NOSELL - weak
a cat
- weak
grandma coin
- weak
a rich bird
gooda pigeon that runs a hedge fund
specific beats general: a pigeon, not a bird. a hedge fund, not “rich”.
printed Coo Capital $COO - weak
funny toast
gooda burnt toast that thinks it's art
say what's funny instead of saying it's funny.
printed Burnt Masterpiece $TOAST
length and limits
up to 140 characters. one line is plenty. the printer won't print slurs or hate, real people, real brands' logos, claimed endorsements or sexual content. if a sentence gets refused, rewrite it and try again. content rules →
